Tony Blackburn has admitted he romped with hundreds of women but insisted he is no sex abuser.
“But they were consenting adults and no one was hurt or touched inappropriately. I was single, it was fun. I never did anything improper.”
Blackburn has insisted he was never quizzed over claims teenage dancer Claire McAlpine was “seduced” by him in 1971 – despite secret memos revealing BBC bosses had spoken to him twice at the time.
He said the confusion may have arisen as his then-agent could have spoken to executives on his behalf, without his knowledge.
He added: “I think they wanted me to say I couldn’t remember meeting them as it was so long ago.
“But that would be a lie. I remember everything.”
He added later: “I can only say that I told the truth. The whole thing baffles me.”
Referring to the secret papers, Blackburn, right, said: “I never saw them until 2012. I wish I had.
“I wish it had been investigated properly, then we wouldn’t be in the mess we’re in now.”
